Welcome to Govt Guru Nanak Graduate College (W), Nankana Sahib

Government Guru Nanak Graduate College (W), Nankana Sahib was established in 1964 by the Municipal Committee Nankana Sahib in response to the strong demand of the local community. Initially named Municipal College Nankana Sahib, it was associated with the boys’ college of the city.

In 1964, the college was transferred to Anjuman Welfare Nankana Sahib, and later to the Evacuee Trust in 1969. It was subsequently upgraded and renamed as Government Guru Nanak Degree College for Women, Nankana Sahib, in honour of Baba Guru Nanak. For many years, the institution offered B.A. classes exclusively.

In 1972, under the Government’s nationalization policy, the college was nationalized. Later, in 1992, Government Guru Nanak Associate College (W) Nankana Sahib was formally separated from Government Guru Nanak Degree College for Boys.

The college spans approximately 61 kanal and 14 marlas of land, of which 25 kanal comprise the covered area. Over the years, the institution has expanded its academic scope and infrastructure to meet modern educational needs.

The B.Sc. block was approved by the worthy Chief Minister of Punjab in a meeting held on 13 February 2004, following the request of the local MNA and MPA.

Currently, the college offers Intermediate and BS degree programs. BS programs are offered in affiliation with Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) in the following disciplines:

• Islamic Studies

• Political Science

• English Literature
